Healthy Foods Herbs and Supplements

 

While we're not big on supplements we are well aware that many of us never get enough vitamins. Also some herbs can be very beneficial when taken as a tea, tonic or even in powdered form. To ignore these benefits would be as unwise as it would to embrace every "quack cure" that comes along. So we'll try for a happy...and sane medium.

Many herbs demonstrate qualities that are hard to deny as helpful for us. Indeed many "modern" pharmaceuticals are simply repackaged herbal remedies. These days we have a wide variety of teas alone to perk us up or help us sleep or even just help ease some tension from our bodies. Epsom salts, long valued as a laxative and to help heal strained muscles are often combined with herbs to increase the soothing effects of a healing bath.

And then there's foods. From what's often called "functional foods" to foods that are not well know to us westerners to common things like...apples. Yes, apples are proving to be one of the healthiest things we can eat. The nice thing about exploring healthful foods is it's a subject we can all enjoy and, well, sink our teeth into.
