Part 1 of Your Beautiful Skin Revealed showed you some principles for great skin. Those strategies focused on maintaining your overall health and avoiding things that can damage your skin. In part 2 we'll examine some practical steps for keeping your skin looking its best.
One of your pores jobs is to excrete oil to help your skin stay supple and soft. When your natural oil mixes with dirt and grim blackheads can form. Left to themselves these blackheads can imbed themselves deep into your pores and are troublesome to get out. To keep the blackheads at bay, you need to wash your face twice a day. For more serious blackhead problems you may want to talk to a skin care professional.
Here's a routine you can adapt for lucious skin. For best results do this twice each day.
First wash your face with a high-quality cream. (Avoid anything using sodium lauryl sulfate as mentioned in part 1.) If your skin is sesnitive then a cream designed for sensitive skin or ultra sensitive skin may be in order. You may also want to consider purchasing an all-natural or soap-free cleanser. These may be worthwhile even for normal skin types but not necessary. If you have acne you may need an acne wash.
In all cases never use anything that burns or causes any kind of discomfort. Good skin care products should soothe and feel good. They should leave your skin feeling smooth and supple not dried out. Finish step on by rinsing with water.
Next use a pad or cotton ball to wipe your face with a toner. The toner takes off any remaining gunk while closing your pores. Again, you want your skin left feeling good. Avoid anything that doesn't,better yet... toss it the trash!
Your final step is to apply a moisterizer. Use one made for your skin as heavy moisterizers tend to clog oily skin. Use products that match your skin type for best results.
Once a week (or twice a week at most) apply a facial mask or scrub for deep cleaning. Don't use these any more often - it could harm your skin more than help it.
It may take some time to find what works best for you but the results are worth the trouble. Now you know products to shy away from you can experiment with others with confidence. Keep up your education as new techniques do come up from time to time.
